Permanent position - AML Compliance Monitoring Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze transactions with elevated AML, sanctions, and embargo-related risks, ensuring compliance with applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing regulations.
  • Perform enhanced due diligence and liaise with first-line teams to obtain additional information and clarification where required.
  • Review alerts generated by transaction monitoring, filtering, and screening systems, assessing risks and determining appropriate actions.
  • Conduct AML transaction controls both prior to execution (pre-approvals) and post-transaction through Know Your Transaction (KYT) monitoring.
  • Perform transactional reviews of customer relationships and identify unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct investigations, prepare case documentation, and draft reports or communications for relevant regulatory or competent authorities.
  • Respond to requests from regulatory and law enforcement authorities.
  • Produce ad hoc AML reports and management information.
  • Contribute to AML-related projects, process improvements, and the ongoing enhancement of monitoring frameworks.
  • Promote operational efficiency and support the continuous optimization of compliance processes.
Profile
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications in Compliance or AML are an asset.
  • 4–5 years of experience in AML Monitoring, Financial Crime Compliance, or Sanctions within the Swiss banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to work independently, accurately, and under pressure.
  • Proactive team player with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Avaloq or other core banking systems is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in French and English; knowledge of German or additional languages is a plus.
